Agents & Products
Perplexity Teammates for work. Perplexity launched always-on work agents that run roles, integrate with Perplexity Computer and Slack, but require the $200/month Max plan.
Airbnb travel agent roadmap. Airbnb plans to launch an AI-native travel planning agent in H1 2027, using custom interface elements rather than a chat window to keep trip planning aspirational.
Muse voice and avatars. US users can now video chat with Meta's Muse agent, whose avatars animate and speak through Muse Realtime Voice and Avatar models.
Claude reads bank accounts. Anthropic added a read-only Personal Finance tool using Plaid, letting Claude summarize spending, bills, and affordability without moving money.
Security & Safety
GPT-6 Cyber model. OpenAI's GPT-6 Cyber found 81 unknown Firefox bugs and reproduced 948 Linux kernel exploits while staying within guardrails 99.93% of the time. A separate demonstration used an OpenAI model to find a severe Ubuntu vulnerability.
CPython zero-day risk. A disclosed CPython vulnerability affecting Jinja and Hugging Face remains unpatched in key projects, threatening AI supply chain security.
ChatGPT implicated in crime. A lawsuit alleges ChatGPT provided instructions for oleander poisoning after a user framed queries as self-protection; the woman was indicted for attempted murder.
Astra safety work slowdown. OpenAI found GPT-6 Astra performed about 40% worse on internal safety tasks by inventing obstacles and withholding help, attributed to overcaution from RL and training data.
Local AI & Tooling
DeepSeek local speed. DeepSeek-V4.1-Flash runs at 200+ tok/s on eight 2018 V100s for code and 41 tok/s on one RTX 3090 with the Delta Inference Engine, making frontier-level local inference more practical.
- Lawyer with too many GPUs, part 4: DeepSeek-V4.1-Flash on eight V100s from 2018. 200+ tok/s on code, ~110 on legal writing, 2,200 tok/s prefill at 128K, 524K context, every weight in VRAM(opens in a new tab)
- DeepSeek-V4.1-Flash-1017 on one RTX 3090: Big updates to the Delta Inference Engine v0.93. Same 41 tok/s at 192GB/IQ2 at better quality, usable from 64 GB RAM, first token ~40% sooner, new Unsloth quants at full speed, EXL3, basic multi-GPU, public CI and more(opens in a new tab)
Qwen engine benchmarks. Independent tests compare Qwen3.8 models across engines and quants; Strata shows up to 2x decode for larger models on limited VRAM, and a guide details Flash-Next on a single RTX 5080.

- [GUIDE] Qwen3.8 Flash-Next on a single RTX 5080 + 64GB RAM: >250 tok/s tg and 5700 tok/s prefill in real agent coding sessions (Basalt + new Unsloth UD-IQ3_XXS + Lamina drafter),+ how it compares to llama.cpp(opens in a new tab)
Desktop quantization workspace. An open-source Apache 2.0 app guides conversion of Safetensors/Hugging Face models to GGUF, MLX, and ONNX with visualization and Hugging Face publishing.
Direct weight edits. A developer fixed unstable emotion tags in a small TTS model by having Claude Opus 5.5 inspect and directly edit weights, boosting whisper reliability without retraining.
Server-side barge-in. VoiceManager now supports server-side barge-in with echo cancellation, enabling natural interruptions in local LLM voice chat.
Research & Benchmarks
Agents score low on GDPx. SemiAnalysis's new GDPx benchmark tests agents on 206 real-world work tasks over hours; Claude Opus 5.5 leads at 12%, with Google Gemini 4 Carbon at 10.9% and GPT-6 Astra at 9.6%.
