GPT-6 Astra launch. OpenAI released GPT-6 Astra for computer use, coding, science, and cybersecurity, with strong OSWorld and SWE results. Demand was high enough that OpenAI temporarily paused new Pro subscriptions to preserve service for existing users.
Meta's Muse agent. Meta launched Muse, an agent that runs in a cloud VM and can be driven through WhatsApp to shop, write emails, and negotiate. It reached No. 2 on the US App Store but early reviews highlight both its usefulness and the unsettling amount of personal data it can access.
DeepSeek V4.1 Flash. DeepSeek's open V4.1 Flash targets long-context agents by shrinking the KV cache and cutting input compute. It's available on HuggingChat, and the full model is about 748B parameters including engram and vision components, requiring serious hardware.
OpenAI Live-1 and Work agents. OpenAI released GPT-Live-1 full-duplex speech API at $0.05 per minute, a Data agent in ChatGPT Work for building dashboards from enterprise sources, and a ChatGPT for Financial Services product with built-in premium data.
Slackforce Surfaces. Slack's new Slackforce Surfaces lets users describe interactive charts, dashboards, or microsites in chat, and Slackbot generates and shares them from connected apps without leaving the conversation.
Open model roundup. A flurry of open releases includes YuE2-3B for music, OUI-1 for generating UI elements from a custom DSL, GigaChat-3.5 Reasoning with Gated DeltaNet, CyberTiel 35B-A3B for uncensored coding, and Muse-glimmer-30b, which punches above its weight in creative writing.
